40 coats of Zaino in the first two years (when I use to do car shows) then I added one coat about every year or so after that.

This photo was shot last fall. I have run the car at the track (road course) ~20 times.

Just to ad my 2 cents concerning a few things that have been said:

Polishes are abrasive and used to polish out defects. Depending on the product it may or may not leave behind a little protection.

Wax is a protectant. When your car looks less swirled after wax it is because the wax has fillers that fill the swirls-or-the carnuba has filled them in, as carnuba is a natural filler.

If you are seeing color on the pad/cloth when you wax or polish the paint is either single stage -or- multi-stage (base/clear) that has started to oxidize. Sometimes a good detailer can take care of oxidation, sometimes you have to repaint.

I wax off every day except Saturday. That day is reserved for the wife!

OMG, no idea.

Probably any time I wash the car and its still light out when Im done, I put a little Carnuba on it (P21S) Just the top surfaces (hood, bow, rear deck, tops of fenders and quarters). So . . . a lot I guess. Its therapy for me.

I try to Clay bar, then Zaino it twice or thrice during the summer. (+ 3 pts for working "thrice" into a post on Corvette forum)

Way TOO Often

Seriously it took me awhile to cut all of the defects out of the paint, and now that I finally have it were I like it, it's just upkeep

At the start of each show season (early spring) I'll give it a good wash. Cleaner, clay bar and wax. That's it. Once a week during the show season it get's spray detailer. Works for me. My Superformance Cobra has never seen wax. I use a product called Dri Wash 'n Guard. The paint is just as fresh and glossy as when it was shipped from the factory in South Africa 13 years ago.

With the wife part.

Thorough cleaning in the spring, and probably once/month after that.
