Transaxle Noise
Hello all,
New on the forum here I don’t have a Corvette yet, but I have been helping a friend out with his for the past year. His car is a race prepared 02 Z06 that has been set up for the road course. Recently a strange sound appeared from the transaxle area. While the car is in gear and above 4000 a loud ratcheting sound is present. The sounds is the same with the clutch pushed in or not.. The only time the sound goes away is when the car is taken out of gear. This happens in all gears. I am thinking along the line of a bad bearing in the transaxle, thus requiring a rebuild / replacement.
I searched the forum but did not come up with any hits on this problem.
Does anyone have any preferred shops in the Chicago land area that will diagnose and fix this issue?
