When I was replacing a bulb in the outer left lamp housing of my 02 coupe, I noticed this wire and some sort of piece attached by what is a mix of tape and sealant.
Anyone know what it is?? I don't have a FSM handy for the car so no way to check the wiring schematics.
The original owner never had anything besides the OEM lamp housings.
Whatever it is, the stuff attaching it looks like it was put there when the car was built. There is no similar wire on the right side so that would rule out lighting.
It's not a connector and whatever is under that adhesive/sealant is small. Could it be a sensor of some sort?
Hi There,
First I would put a meter on the mystery wires or a test light to see if there is power at these wires. If your really curious run a set of jumper wires from your battery to the mystery wires. My educated guess is nothing will happen. The worst thing that could happen is blowing a fuse.

Hi George,
I looked at your profile & was wondering if you could post some pictures.Your vette has a very rare color & is really cool looking.I saw one in a corvette book.
Thanks for the spell check comment. I had a good laugh.
That guy probably thinks I mean jumper cables like when you try to start a car.I said wires like the kind that have alligator clips attached at each end, used to bypass, test or supply power to electrical components in various systems. OOps I had to use spell check for alligator.Ha! Ha!
