I'm not sure I got any better mileage, but the performance gain was noticeable. BTW, YES, YES, YES, get screens for the Vararam. I was driving my car, and a piece of newspaper flew up in front of the car. It started running funny, and missing. I pulled over and saw the paper had become lodged in front of the Vararam intakes. After removing it, the car was fine. If stuff gets sucked in, it WILL affect the car, and it will be a PITA to get it out if it gets into one of the tubes going to the throttle body. Plus, I think it looks better with them on since the Vararam doesn't look good with just the plain ducts showing. BTW check to see if the filter needs to be oiled too before you drive the car. A K&N filter has to be oiled to work properly.
Going to reoil my filter after 1 year and 6k. Screen is a must!
I saw an instantaneous improvement in my MPG. Most of my driving is stop & go and I'm running around 21.5 to 22. On the highway with the cruise set at 75 it gets 24 easily. This coupled with the increase in RWHP makes it a good, fairly inexpensive performance/economy mod.
I already had screens which keep out some of the larger bugs in in Florida. Those who haven't seen an MPG improvement probably are taking advantage of the increased performance and have their foot in it too much. Its a curse we all have to live with.

MPG only slight, ran much smooother power-wise. I picked up a bird in my duct on a spirited run, didn't find out for a couple of very warm days Screens I would recommend, mine came from RPI
Just got mine installed. (the computer probably hasn't even adjusted fully yet) It is an absolute PITA to install, but right away I could tell a difference. My butt dyno might not be as calibrated as some but it is definitely much much smoother and more responsive under power right off the bat. Not sure it equals more peak h.p. but there is certainly more room under the curve. I'm impressed so far!

Are you doing your own install???
I will definitely do my own installation. It looks very approachable.
