I just bought some tires from tire rack on the net. By the time I sent the order I received a call from them. Luke said he work with the forum and wanted to know I ordered regular tires and not run flats. I thank him for his help and told him I understood. We chated some about tires and best of all save me almost 200 a tire. Also NTB are the ones I was going to order from and they are still the one to mount and balance the tires through TR. I receive the sports max in two days and will have them mounted by Friday. I guess the only problem is why the rear tires always go bad before the fronts.
I've ordered tires for my wife's car many times from them, saved a bundle. When it's time to do the Corvette tires they will be the first place and most likely last place I look.
I have used Tire Rack a couple of times and they have always given me great service! I recently ordered a set for my 02 4-Runner, order placed over the phone on a Monday morning, tires in my garage on Tuesday night! What more could you ask for?
My wife's car was $46 out the door for two tires mounted and balanced at Discount Tire. It's based on size somewhat so it would most likely be higher for a Corvette. Her tires are 195-50-15.

I am almost certain it did. It was more than I've paid before, but they also fixed my run flat tire free of charge, and they are close to my house. I decided to use them exclusively as they are always very careful with my rims too.
So who are you guys using to mount and balance? What it costing you to go to a shop (maybe Discount Tire) that did not sell you the tires?
I used one of their recommended installers nearby.
Flawless mounting and balancing was $80 for all four tires.
It was $20 less, because I only brought the wheels and tires to them.
The Corvette stayed at home!
I just don't see how it works out economically... Their recommended installers want $40 per tire to mount and balance... And then there is shipping. I usually just have a Discount Tire store match their prices... saves me from having to haul around 4 tires anyway.
They have saved me enough on the tire price to make up for it. I tried the price matching one time and didn't get real far. It's not really an issue for me to throw the tires in her trunk as we usually do two at a time anyway. I'll probably have them shipped to the installer when I do all 4 on the Corvette. I will try price matching again, but so far I've been happy with the overall price going with Tirerack.
