Default DTE Powertrain

I have GOT to give a public shout out to DTE Powertrain. Simply one of the best vendor experiences I have ever had. They were kind enough to perform a full recalibration (tune) on my "new to me" fairly heavily modified 2002 Z. I thought my car ran pretty well before I took it to them, boy was I wrong. It is absolutely amazing at how much better and how much easier the car drives when it is tuned properly. DTE REALLY knows their stuff.

Fantastic customer service. Superb facilities - THE cleanest, most organized shop I have EVER seen. Easy people to talk to (both Phil and Jenny). It was weird, I didn’t "feel" like a customer, I felt like a friend, not sure how else to describe it; they didnt just schedule me in, take my money and send my on may way, they took care of me AND my car. Straight up, honest people. Cant ask for anything more than that.

I just want to publicly thank you DTE for being as courteous as you were in taking care of me and accommodating me as much as you did. My wife doesn’t know it yet (I wont tell if you wont tell! ), but I will be bringing my car back to you this winter so you can make it better, faster, stronger!

Phil, I wish you and Jenny and the whole DTE crew all the best!

Steve Smith (DTE customer for life - Lord willing)

Funny, I have exactly the opposite experience.
Ordered a 3.90 diff. 6 weeks later get a 3.73 diff. Instead of "taking care of there customers" that have been down for a month and a half they would rather loose one. GREAT JOB DTE

I've had two amazing experiences with DTE.

Even before I spent a dime with them Phil spent a good 30 minutes on the phone with me and countless email. He recommended a configuration based on my goals and budget, and also had left room for a planned upgrade. At the time I was considering supercharging but wasn't sure, so he created a custom grind cam that was mild yet outperformed similar cams. This allowed me to go either SC or NA with higher compression heads.

Phil and Jenny were extremely accommodating, their shop was immaculate, and his team seemed first rate. I was impressed. A year later I went back (a 300 mile drive) for heads. Once again, complete professionalism and an amazing job - not to mention results (see http://www.comp-soln.com/Dyno3Run.jpg). My car basically sounds and idles like stock, but it still a beast when I want it to be.

I would recommend DTE without reservation.

Add my endorsement to the pile! Two years after having DTE significantly enhance the performance of my 03 Coupe, I couldn't be happier with the results. The car has performed flawlessly and continues to be an absolute blast to drive. How can you not LOVE a car that puts down almost 400 hp at the rear wheels and still gets over 30 mpg on the highway?

The DTE Powertrain organization is top notch in my book

Hey guy's still waiting on my return label to get your diff back to you
First and fore-most, we have no record of your name (Chris Braselton) in our data-base, nor of anything being shipped to Braselton, GA. However, we do have a person by the name of Chris Martinez that seems to fit what you're posting here, fits the order at SDPC, fits where the differential was shipped and to whom the order was routed through. (Scoggin-Dickey) Are you omitting some very important information here????? After careful review of the files we have here, I believe this situation is yours. (Chris Martinez in Jefferson, GA.)

Just as an FYI~ before you come on here and attack a respected vendor who's positively proven ourselves to the Corvette Community for years, when you really have no clue what the situtation actually is, you should have called us *FIRST*. I will clear this up with you here publically 100% (since you chose this venue of communication instead of simply calling or emailing us) and by the time I'm done, you'll know all the accurate *FACTS* as there are *ALWAYS* two sides to every story. In short- we've done nothing wrong here to warrant this silly attack on us...

As I understand, you called Corvette Garage and placed your differential order though them, for which they purchase through SDPC, since they are a major distributor/warehouse of our products. Raymond from Scoggin-Dickey then called us and placed an order here for you of a Stage 2 3.73 differential and backed up that phone call with a hand typed P.O. of that order via email stating it was to be a 3.73 in the subject line and in the leading text. That information provided by SDPC is what we used to process your order.

The Stage 2 3.73 differential is what was built for you, as that what was ordered by SDPC for you; therefore, that is what we shipped you. We shipped what was ordered....simple as that.

We just talked to Raymond at SDPC this morning to clear all of this up and he indicated to us that it was his error in the order process that caused you to get the differential with the incorrect gear ratio. The error was a confusion of SDPC, *NOT* with DTE Powertrain!

Jenny processes *ALL* the differential orders here and she's got the entire process down to a science so no errors occur. I then personally hand-build each differential *MYSELF* that leaves this facility to insure 100% quality control of the end product and I NEVER assume anything, nor do I EVER cut corners on anything...period! When a high performance differential ships out of here you can bet the bank that it's accurately processed and expertly built from the actual owners of the company. That's awesome service and that's what has made this company so successful over the years.

There was no need to come on here and bash us for no good reason, as the error wasn't ours in the first place- yet you did anyway, without even knowing all the accurate facts of the issue first. That's ok though, because you now given us the opportunity to publically clear it up with you with information present that you didn't know before.

Good luck and next time you have a percived "issue" with any vendor, how about picking up the telephone first to ask a question so it can be cleared up, instead of prematurely flying off the handle like this. How is anyone supposed to know there is a problem if you never bother to call to tell us.....

Take care.

Let's see how fast they cry and get this post deleted.
*BTW- We don't "cry" to mods for anything on this website and if they choose to delete something from us or any other vendor, it's on their accord and it's their decision, *NOT* ours. We have no influence on their decisons, as I don't have time to baby-sit this board every day. In fact, up until today, I haven't been on this site for over 3 weeks....

I recently had DTE do some work on my car before I left for Florida and I have to say that I have never received better service from any vendor of any kind, Phil runs a class A business. I’ve been to all kinds of dealerships and private shops and I’ve never been treated near as perfectly as I have with DTE. One of the biggest regrets I have about moving from Indiana is that I won’t be able to bring my car to what I consider the best shop going.
