I haven't flown in a long while, but I was flying J-3 Cubs and an occasional Aeronca Champ. Eventually I want to build a fast kit, like maybe an RV6 kit or something faster. There's a 3/4 scale P51 kit that will cruise at 450 mph with an aluminum big block Chevy, if I can afford it.
Got my private ticket at 16.
Father had a P-51. Had 50 hours in it.
Also a Bonanza 100 + hours
A-26 Antique
B-25 Antique
WWI Jenny 3 hours
707(KC-135) 20 Hours + landings and takeoffs (Boom Op) (the Just-In-Case Factor)
Air Force Aero Club Skymaster (Old FAC bird), Cessnas, Cherokee.
Original cost when I started with the Aero Club was 17.50 Hour wet.
Now it's 80+
Will never be updating my medical. Too much $.

Don't fly either, A&P mechanic for the Boeing Co. working on KC-10 tankers. When I was in the AF, I flew back seat a few times on T-38, F-15, F-16 and the RF4 (incentive rides ). I've also worked on the 737 and DC-8 in the commercial area.
CMI checking in here.... 3500+ total J-3's through the new CE515. Only get a chance about 6 or 7 times a year anymore, but it's free when I do get to go check out the new birds in the skies.....
Favorite - tailwheels, low, old, and slow, door off - laughing every minute of flight. They serve no purpose but to just go have fun! Burn 5-6 gal/hr of car gas.
All the rest are known as "high speed transportation devices used in the search and acquistion of old airplane parts"
Back in the "old" days, nearly all kerosene burners used water injection. It was quite a sight, especially during an ORI with four B-47s on the runway at the same time, all full-throttle, and all using rocket-assisted TO. The smoke and thunder was awesome! A sight never to be seen again. Here's my first attempt at adding a pic in my message, hope it turns out.
JATO all the way. They just got a RB47 at the air museum at Wright Pat for static display. Lat plane my Dad flew while he was in the AF. They went to BUFFs and he retired.
Commercial, single engine land and sea, multi engine land, instrument airplane. CFI-I Current aircraft Mooney Ovation M20R equipped for known ice FAR part 23. Total hours 3,600+
By the way 100ll av fuel at Signature BWI two weeks ago was over $7.50 and if I remember correctly jet fuel was $8.41.
