Well I couldnt stand the stripes, so I took it to the body-shop and had them removed. They then rebuffed and did some touch up work. I have nothing personal against stripes, but the vinyl ones just look cheap imho. Couple of pics.
Is that a CE Z06??? Personally if it is, I would have left the stripes, that is the whole purpose of the package. But too each is there own. If you are happy with your car, that is all that matters!!

Yes it is the CE Z-16 package. I know its taboo to remove those on the CE edition, but I bought it for fun and was not to concearned about that issue. I did think about having them painted on, but after seeing it without I really like it.

OMG!! A NAKED CE Z06
I also like the cleaner look, I love that lemans blue also
Looks like any other regular Z06 to me....and I'm not 60!! Should help your resale a lot after you get finished ragging it out and want to trade it for a Evo.
yeah the stripes look really ricey to me too. I think they were made for 60 year old people that love vettes
Just out of curiosity, how does something that looks "ricey" also appeal to someone that's 60 years old? I don't really think the CE stripes fit the definition of ricey.
I just remember right after I graduated from high school when the Fast and the Furious movies were out and every single Honda had to have racing stripes or stickers (hence, 'rice'.) It got so bad that most of us made a point to remove every single sticker/stripe just to prove a point that 'cleaner is better'. The sticker fad started to wear off in 2003 or so, and then BAM!... Chevy put decals on all blue 2004 Z06s. Maybe it's just too soon.
A local friend of mine has one and wants to do the stripe delete and powder coat his wheels black but is afraid to because he thinks the Z16 nutswingers will put him in the dog house. He's actually thinking about trading it in for a 2003 Electron Blue, since it's bothering him so much.
Yeah stipes make me think of ricers too! Like the late 60s Camaros, T/As, Judges....
Just for the record, the car still looks great without the stripes!

Sounds like your "friend" should grow a set & stop worrying about what other people think.
