I did it on my last C5, I pulled the right piller cover and header cover and ran the wires down to the accessory wires over and around the top of the glove box and down to the foot well where the wires are located.
They are wraped with black tape on the ends from the factory.
Took around an hour.
If you need more help let me know. :smash:
Going to tackle this after the holidays. What are Z06 owners using for a mount? Windshield suction cups? Visor mount? I miss not being able to use the mirror mount I had before. Won't work on the electrochromatic mirrors, of course.

Re: Has anyone hardwired a radar detector? (MikeFleischer)
I ran mine down to the accessory power in the passenger's footwell, like the others here did. The detector itself is mounted in the upper left hand corner of the windsheild, using the provided suction cups. I tried several different locations for it, and concluded that this one obstructed my view the absolute least, and was the least visible from outside the car. It works out great.
I used the 12V that powers the lights to the rear view mirror. I just stripped a small area of the wires (without cutting the wires) just before the connector to the mirror and soldered in the shortened lead wire to my dector. It is mounted to the windows with suction cups just under the mirror. It took about 20 minutes to install and I didn't have to disassemble anything or run lengthy wires. It is powered all the time, but the dector draws little current and I've never had it run the battery down, even after recently sitting 3 weeks in the garage.

I did mine, took 2 hours, I am slow and deliberate. A good tip I learned on the forum is to not remove the windshield trim moldings to get the wire behind them. Just push the wire in there with a spatula or plastic knife, it work great and saves time.
