Default Fuel Door Manual Release

Does a 2003 Z06 have a manual release for the fuel door? You know, for use if the solenoid fails.

My owner's manual says there is one in the trunk area but I'll be damned if I can find it. Maybe it only applies to Coupes?

The Z06 came from the factory with a manual release. You should be able to find the manual release pull cord over the drivers side tub...it might be behind the carpet...unless the previous owner did something with it...

Well I just looked again and found it. It was buried under the carpet pretty good.

Thanks

This came in handy for me ('04 Z06) while I had my center console out painting it and installing stereo upgrades to the back of the car. Couldn't open the gas door while the console was out! It just makes you look funny when you pull up to the pump and get out of your Vette, open the trunk, bend over and reach around digging for the release, pop your gas door open, and THEN proceed to filling up. It made me laugh a few times during the week I had the console out of the car.
