well tonight my rear spring bolt ont he driver side snapped on me out of nowhere while driving down an off ramp from freeeway on to another (60mph). and its on a turn. my bolt snapped and the spring hit the floor, sparking up the freeway until i was able to pull over!
this is the 2nd time this has happened to me, on the opposite side. The first time i was just driving about 35mph on straight flat rd. and the pass. side snapped. i replaced the bolt with a grade 8 zinc bolt and no issues. but i was lazy and didnt swap out the driver side. well sure enough it snapped and bit me in the @$$.
check your spring bolts! i believe the stocks are only grade 5.
Did it have anything to do with the way your suspension is setup in your avatar? Did you have the retainer clip/rings on the top of the spring bolts? Can a composite leaf spring actually spark when dragged on the pavement?

The springs have metal end caps; they would cause the sparks.
