Hi guys, just working on my c5 and im putting on the vararam CAI i bought from RPI, great fast service by the way, just wondering how to take those two pesky t-30 torx bolts from inside the air box, any ideas, or am i just being paranoid...... im being ultra-careful cause i don't want to hurt or brake any clips or fastners..... im taking pictures of every little bolt and every little step so i can post it to help all the other people. The instructions from Vararam are vague to say the least. thanks....
Do a search for Cajundudes vararam installation instructions. I used them this past weekend and they are alot more helpful than the one's you get directly from vararam.
Good luck with the install ... it's pretty straightforward
I used a hex drive T-30 torx bit and turned it with a pliers until it was loose enough to turn by hand. Getting those out was the easy part of the install - the rest was a SOB - but worth it.

I just installed mine, install was striaght forward. I am not too impressed with the quality of the intake pieces, and how they fit together at the filter. I had to use a piece of metal that I screwed into side of the top of the intake and screwed into the piece of plastic that connects the two intake tubes. You can only see the metal from underneath the car. With that modification the seal at the filter is much tighter. If you want a pic I can take one when I get home.
What I did on mine was get some Black 100% silicone and used 3 sheet metal screws to attach the bottom of the fog lamp piece then used the silicone to close up all the gaps so it is one solid piece at the bottom. I get full air flow to my engine no bypass. I will try to get some pictures of it but looks and works great.
