I just finished installing a new heater core in my vette. Did all the work in myself in my driveway. It took a LONG time, been working on it for weeks. Just went for spin and all I think I fell in love with my car all over again.
I have 2000 FRC and looking back I would probably pay the dealer the almost $1000 in labor they wanted for the job. I probably spent 20-30 hours total on it over the last 3 weeks.
Word of advice to anyone trying this themselves... get the GM shop manual program for the computer or get access to it or get a printout or something. It helped alot.
Congrats on completing a big job. I feel your pain, I replaced a heater core on a C3 that I owned years ago, what a job. From your post it doesn't sound as if the process has gotten any easier!
