There are alot posts about doing mods to our Z06's, I thought I would ask who is planning on keeping thiers stock?
I will be since I've modded every other car I've owned but now with the Z06 it hauls a$$ straight from the factory, no need for mods.
02 with 49k and still stock other than the b&m sport shifter. i plan on leaving it that way cause i like the gas mileage and its fast enough for me and i also take it out of state to the mountains of north ga.
i believe the more you mod them the less reliable they are.
My '01 is stock and has just turned over 8K miles. I bought it last winter with only 2,800 miles on it. I had plans of driving it alot this summer before tearing into the motor over the winter. I had big plans of a head/cam/header swap but am starting to think it might be better to leave well enough alone. Bone stock on the original tires it has run a so-far best of 12.38 @ 114mph. Not bad for a slow oil burnin '01.
stock... i have done strokers, no2, etc..etc.. on other cars of mind.. and there is always something that needs to be re engineered sooner or later... I'm leaving this one alone for now.. GM designed a good package..
until I can jump in a C6Z06 I'm pretty sure this one will stay the way it is... heck I even go to the dealerships to get my brake fluid, clutch fluid, air filters..etc..etc.. everything!
*edit
I did do the !CAGS (GM's way of appeasing the feds)
Just bought a low mile red 2004 exactly like I wanted: all stock with no untasteful mods, plan to keep it that way. The only mod I do to my cars is tweak the ride height if needed.
IMO, when resale time comes, most potential buyers would prefer the all stock car vs. a modded car. Jeff
I have 18k miles on my '03. Running B&Bs, Vararam, and C6 Z06 shifter. My most recent mod is doing a full stereo this weekend and than calling it good for awhile.
I owned an '04 GTO before this that was a full bolt on car (heads, cam, ported intake manifold/tb, valve springs, headers, intake, exhaust). The whole deal. It was great since the GTO needed 430RWHP to at least feel fast.
I am making 390 in my Z right now and don't feel the need to do any performance mods whatsoever. It is plenty fast for me and I want to keep it nice and streetable. I see so many people getting caught up in the "need" for modding and doing tons of stuff all the time. This was how I was in the GTO. Always something new. I want to get this stereo in and just enjoy the car for awhile
