Default tpis headers install question

hey vet buddies, I now have TPIS headers for a 98 auto, what do i need now? I know I need a gasket set, what else to get. I mean everthing down to the number of clamps. please help me thanks.

Do you have a mid pipe from the header collector back to the cat back? I have these headers on my car now, and however I didnt install them, I know that they dont just mate up to the stock midpipe. The H pipe that comes with them is designed to slipfit onto the midpipe which involves some cutting and welding to work with the stock midpipe.

i dont know about tpis headers and number of clamps but you need a torque wrench, some anti sieze, and some dielectric grease. i just cleaned up and reused my oem gaskets and header bolts. if u choose to reuse the bolts, you'll need to clean out the oem antisieze from the threads. i know some folks will gasp, and i dont reccommend this, but i very carefully used a thin hacksaw blade and a wire brush.. they looked brand new afterwards anyways, there's not too much u need besides some tools and patience.. good luck and have fun

I will be installing a setof these in my car next week as well. There are installation instructions on the TPIS website but from what it looks like you can use your stock midpipe if you cut off the pipe just before the cats and weld the supplied H pipe on, then slip fit the h pipe in the headers. It also looks like you might have to shorten the pipe after the cats just before the "H" so that will require some welding. I bought a borla x pipe so here is what I plan on doing:
Headers w/ 2X new manifold gaskets GM part #12558573 I got these on gmpartshouse.com - Welded TPIS "H" pipe to cats(this will require 2 clamps) - about 10 inches after the cats I am going to slip fit the borla X pipe(this will require 2 clamps) - And from there this bolts up to my GHL catback. I have been researching and havent seen if it is necessary or not but there are gaskets that go between the X pipe and the Catback GM part # 10276792 I also bought these off of gmpartshouse.com very cheap. Hope this helps and I will try to put up pics when I have them in. So in summary here is a parts list:

Manifold gaskets (2x GMPN 12558573)
Catback gaskets (2x GMPN 10276792)
Muffler clamps (4x)

NO I DO NOT HAVE A MID PIPE? I ALSO DON'T HAVE THE H PIPE BROUGHT THSE USED.THANKS

I really havent got to look at the setup that well but it looks like if you left about 3-4 inches of pipe before the cats, they might slide into the collector on the header without having to use the supplied H pipe but again im not sure about this. From what it looks like if you can fashion up some way to get the front of the stock midpipe to slide into the header collector everthing else should bolt up as normal.
