NO. I replaced my 555s with UHPs a few months ago. UHPs are MUCH better in the wet and AT LEAST as good in the dry as the 555s. 555s did hold up fairly well (35K miles), so we'll see how many miles I get out of the UHPs.

I have filed more warranty claims with General Tires for simple seperations, and seperations resulting in vehicle damage, than any other single brand my shop carries. I have not had personal experience with the UHP line, but have had the Nitto 555s on several of my vehicles, with nothing but compliments for them. IMHO- go with the Nittos. They wear rather quickly, but the traction was most impressive. Just a simple tire shop mgr's opinion.

I am afraid of Generals. I had sidewall bubbles in both fronts on my MR2, and tread seperation on my F-150. I would personally go for just about anything else before a General.
