I just read an article in our paper this AM. GM is paying out after a class action suit for Dex Cool engine damage. But only for four and six cylinder engines. No V8's listed. Damage includes intake, heads and radiators. There are mileage restrictions, amounts, etc.
OLD NEWS, do a search. This was mainly due to cheap GM gaskets which leaked and allowed air into system. If air gets mixed in, Dexcool turns thick and muddy. If you have a coolant leak, fix it! Other than this, Dexcool is a GREAT coolant. 112,000 miles on my 1998 and 2 coolant changes with NO problems.

Got a letter in the mail about this. You have to prove there was damage as a result of using Dex-Cool - fortunately I haven't had any problems with my wife's car.
