From my point of view the tranny you want depends on personal preference and personal use
A4: Daily Drivers that see lots of urban traffic, Drag racers, boulevard cruisers, those with physical ailments (knees, back, etc.)
M6: Daily Drivers that don't see lots of urban traffic (unless you can put up with constant shifting in traffic) road racers, auto cross.
Nothing wrong with using either transmission type for any of the above
