Default Has anyone ever had a problem..

With the weight of an air filter assembly (dual cone w/chrome housing) causing the stock (accordian style) air bridge from slipping apart either from the TB or the bridge/coupler connection??

I put a new setup on my car last night, and used the stock air bridge/coupler (until my new one arrived). A buddy told me I was looking for trouble, that it would fall apart because of the weight of the new assembly?

I believe the airbridge has a couple pins that hold it onto the top of the radiator shroud, so you shouldn't have to worry.

That's what I thought. The two pins would help alleviate some of the weight and distribute it onto the shroud cover. It's not like this big thing is hanging off the TB.

It may work, but probably not worth the effort.
Just stay with the stock air intake. The gains are probably insignificant.
I tend to stay away from used Corvettes where it looks like the owner got rid of the stock equipment just to be messing with things.

This' not the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but it's gotta be top 100.

It made my top 10..

Then again, some of the things I've done are in the top 3.

Some love keeping their cars stock, some love to mod.. There's nothing wrong with either, it's all opinion and what you want from your car
