New Z06 Owner!
Hi all,
Just checking in....I just very recently purchased an 03 Silver Z06....damn I love this car! I'm coming over from a C6 Vette, I've had a couple and this is definitely more the "sports car" feel I was looking for. I've been lurking and learning all about the C5 Z06 and I will be posting some tech related questions to those with the "knowledge".

- First of all, the A6 is just plain boring, I will never go back to an auto, just more fun and more engaging rowing the M6!
-My 08 was nice, but stock was Toyota like quiet and although the idea of the removable roof was nice, both C6's would make creaking type noises that bugged
- As I learned more about the C5 Z06, I really grew to appreciate and want one badly. I really like the fixed roof look.
-In terms of driving, I like how the LS6 revs high and quick, and the suspension tuning and feel just is more "alive" is the best way to describe. The C6 is great, and obviously Dave Hill and GM wanted to refine the car, and I think appeal to a broad base of buyers. I definitely liked the C6, I guess I just feel more comfortable with the rawness of the C5 Z. I can say the LS3 felt very strong, I by no means did any real testing and did no track or quarter mile times to know which was faster, but the LS3 was definitely stronger than the LS2. The LS6's demeanor and the light weight and suspension of the Z feels just as strong as the LS3 and different than both.
Finally, I love Vettes plain and simple, I'd rather have any model than 99% of the cars on the road!

I too recently got a Z06. I've owned since 2005 and continue to own an '04 convertible. I did all the suspension upgrades to it including installing the Ti cat back to make it feel and sound more Z-like. I also did some minor performance enhancements (hood seal, hehe).
Wow!!!!! I should have bought a Z06 in the 1st place. I cannot believe the difference between the two cars.
I love the Z06!

Congrats on your new Z06! I understand why you like it so much.
My Z06 was a garage queen; only 15k miles and really in excellent condition. It even still has that new car smell inside.

I owned an 06 A6 C6 Vette and an 08 C6 Coupe. Both were very nice, but I had some things I wasn't satisfied with:

It's the most fun I've ever had in a car....hit 140 on the back straight at Mid Ohio last year and was grinning ear to ear.
