Changing Auto Shift ****

In the front of the shift **** there is a u shaped clip you need to pull out, It faces the dash at the bottom of the ****. Hope this helps. It is about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the ****.

just did this last night, the **** came off easy - just pull the u-clip outwards.
I also did a boot change (with a two tone boot from midamerica), man, that was a pain in the **** - I'll post pics soon

I changed my shift **** to a carbon fiber one. Looked nice...but I found that 'TO ME', the one that looked nicest was the one they put on at the factory...and it doesn't get hot as holy hell if it sits in the sun for a while....and it's perfect for leaning your (my) wrist on top of while driving.
1990 - I notice that your sig says 2000 Midnight Blue.
Did you have it repainted? Or is it Navy Blue Metallic like my 2000?
