Does anyone have a picture of what the front jack screw should like like when viewed from inside the door? I think mine is missing some pieces, as it just spins in the window regulator.
Actually, i think that is the window channel mounting bolt. It is in a slotted hole, accessable from under the door, which is for adj the track in and out. It doesn't actually connect to anything inside, just clamps the pictured bracket in place. The "jackscrew" is the one behind the door reflector. It actually tips the window in and out. Not sure exactly what your trying to do, but here's a kink to the "tip-in" adj if it will help you with how the system works. http://www.theredlion.us/TipIn.htm
Thanks for the link, I am trying to tip the window in and correct the height adjustment. The service manual says for minor adjustments, to use the front and rear jack screws. The front one on my car does absolutely nothing, which is why I am wondering if there are some pieces missing.
Is the access plug for the pictured screw above, a rectangular plug on the bottom of the door( about the size of a match box) or a small round one? The front jack screw, I think, is found behind the small(about 3/4") round plug. It should be used only for a very small height adj, not for tip-in.
So which screw exactly are you turning that doesn't seemed to be attached to anything. The one in the first pic that you access from the outside of the door on the bottom?
Notice the front mounting bolt is in a slotted hole.
I think that does affect the tip in adjustment, depending on how the bolt is centered in the slot. There should be a rubber bushing on the mounting bolt on each side of the guide rail. I don't see that in your picture.
There are other jack screws on the glass mounting brackets of each of the regulator guides, but those are used to adjust the up and down travel of the glass.
The lower mounting points have nothing to do with adjusting the glass height.
For major adjustments to the glass, you will need to adjust the glass in the mounting brackets. The bolts are slotted so you can move the glass up and down and still have the glass fully seated in the bracket. The jack screws on each guide rail can be used for minor adjustments. The glass can also be moved forward or rearward in the brackets to center the glass in the window opening.
Notice the front mounting bolt is in a slotted hole.
Yeah, I think those are the parts that I am missing. Does anyone have a picture or diagram of what should be there?
