What is your guys take on the older c5's reliability. Was looking at getting one with under 100k but don't know the problems I am faced.
also what is your MPG's in the A4's?
Thanks
Bought my '98 with 100k last year and have had no major problems other than the column lock. The guy before me serviced it very well at the Chevy dealer. I get 30+ on the highway, but with an M6.
I have 95k on my 97 and it is a very reliable car. I would not hesitate to jump in it and drive to Alaska!
I average about 26 between highway and city. I have the 3.15 so not sure if that affects mileage or not. I usually get around 30 or so on the highway but I don't drive it hard.

It does, you'll be at a slightly higher rpm than someone with 2.73s.

I think the reliabity is great. My 97 A4 (2:73) has basic bolt-on modifications, runs good and gets 30+ interstate trip-miles to the gallon. Don't let this secret out... but they are a great car for a modest cost. Enjoy!
