Ok boys and girls I did my first oil & filter change on my new 04 Vert 6spd. Used jack stands and 2x4's with no problems, I even raised the back a couple of inches to get that extra 1/4 quart of oil. While up on stands I installed CLB and CAGS with no problem. Added the required 6.5 quarts of oil and reset the life expectancy and took it out for a spin. The Check engine light is on solid yellow and the oil light is illuminated on my HUD?. I have checked the oil level ohhh a hundred times and cant seem to get a precise reading because that Mobil 1 is so slick on the dip. Any helpful words of wisdom. I don't want to overfill, Thanks in advance.

I think I'd be rechecking that CLB install.

Sounds like you may have knocked loose, or unplugged, the wire for the oil level sending unit. Check that first.

2 good points to check. I'm guessing the oil sending unit is under the dash where I made myself small.?

I reInstalled the CLB today and figured out I had the Oil pressure displayed on HUD (that was why oil indicator was displayed) dummy I know. The only problem I am having is solid yellow check engine light. Do I have to go to the dealer for a check or can any competant garage check the code.? How much would it be to buy my own diagnostic unit.
