After noticing my car was way down on power, I decide to check it over. One thing leads to the next, now I have the driver's head off.
Seems cylinder 7 had a compression around 60 and the rest on the same bank 210-220. Basically, it was running on 7 cylinders.
After looking things over, looks like nothing is wrong though the cylinder in question was filthy. Is there a way I can check the rings without yanking the engine? I suspect they have given up their last hp. Car has 62k original miles.
What are the latest greatest strokers out there? LS3 based?
Looks like that LS3 416 at SPDC might find a home under my heads, intake and cam. Just hope my top end will work on that block.
When my number 7 went the piston had a bunch of hairline cracks between the rings and was also about 60-70 on the compression check. No extrnal signs in the engine like yours until I pulled the piston.

Not a mark on the cylinder wall. I bet it did the same thing as yours.
