Default Just had an Idea....

I was just reading about the chrome "button" covers for the hood blanket..and it got me to thinking.....

Has anyone ever recovered their under hood blanket?..

You know wash the original...spray on some sort of glue and then used a color matched material and applied it over the original...

yes, in fact I believe Carmotorsports has one with a logo on it. I did see a post from someone that had one - the reflection of chrome engine bling started melting the material that the hood pad was covered with while he was at a show on a warm, sunny day.

PS - I'm another MTM nut...

Obviously, it would have to be a material that could withstand some pretty high temps. I did the painting mod and it made it look like new. I'm sure different color paints could be used to get the wanted color.

Yeah..Ive gota small tear in mine, so covering looks really good....Thoes kits on Carmotorsports look tempting but at 180 bucks..i dunno
