Hi everyone, I currently own a C6 but I saw a really nice white 02' C5 today with Z06 replica wheels (black face chrome lip). It has the champaigne colored leather seats. I said hey what not just take it out for a test spin and see what a C5 can do. Then I started thinking why pay more for a newer Corvette when I could have this one for considerably less and it has more features than my C6 too! Even though it was a 4 speed automatic I was impressed. You always get a reliable launch. Unlinke my MN6.. On the highway it was a tad bit slow, but I could live with a slower car since I'm getting tired of having a MN6 as a daily driver..

It has HUD, dual power memory seats (mine only has a single), 12 disc CD changer single hard top, no magnetic ride or whatever they call it..My C6 doesn't have HUD... or a CD changer. The seats even "hug" you if you push the right button next to the lumbar support.

The rear end of the C5 will take some getting use to though, in fact if anything will break a deal it's the way the complete rear of the car looks..And it doesn't have HIDs...

Riding and handling are close, but the C6 feels more tossable into a corner and nimble.

They are giving me 35k for my C6 which is 1LT and has almost 25 k miles. I think it's a fair amount. The reason why I thought this may be a good deal is because the C5 may not drop in value that much anymore (I hope I'm right) and the C6 will still drop about 15 k in value in the next 3 years... Financially it may be a smart move. If I keep my Vette and don't trade it in now, I may as well wait for the C7 to trade in or just keep it for a LOOOONG time.

It's in good condition but it has 61 k miles on it...They were asking $25,9, but they dropped it to $21,5. Is that a fair price??? I just don't want to get bamboozled. Thanks!

PS: does anyone know the correct 0-60 of an 02' auto?

 

That basically sounds like my car, only i have an M6 instead of A4. I bought mine about 8 months ago for 25,5 with every possible option in it, 38k miles, extended warranty and dealer installed LoJack. That sounds pretty inexpensive too me given the area we live in. Id really check it out though, make sure its electrically and mechanically sound.

 

Your Vette, does it have cracked fiberglass in the front bumper? or did it have cracked paint on the front bumper? Does it have red Fuel rail covers? And are two of the rear tail lights tinted darker than the others? If not, then I may have it mistaken, my friend traded in his Red Vette with every option sometime late last year. He went to McChord. That was the first Corvette I've ever driven.

 

I may just pass on this then. I can always add the extra features on my C6.
