Hi Friends

I ve been thinking about this almost a month now bu still don`t know what to do.Maybe some of u has the same dilemma out there. Here is my problem;I own a 97 coupe 6 speed bought it almost 3,5 yrs ago it is in mint condition inside outside.Lightly modified K$N dual intake borla x- pipe rims and interior enhancements.Love it death lol And most importantly paid off.But lately i started to like the C6, it is growing in me.I can effort to get 05 or 06 if I sell my current C5.Or I also wanna wait and get the Z06 when it comes down to late thirties or around forties.I really like C6 Z06 it is the beast truly. But i know it is gonna be at least 2 more years for me to effort one.As u can understand my question should I get a C6 or should wait 2 more years enjoy my paid off C5,not having a fat car payment and when the time comes buy the C6 Z06.What do u guys think???

Thnks
Pasha

I know how you feel, If I could afford one I would have a C6 for sure, At one time I thought the C6 dash was really cheap looking, But as time goes on the more I want one, I was looking at a 2007 ZO6 with 8,000 miles in Yellow, This thing is brand new, They want 61,000 for it I believe, One fine looking machine.

Wait, save, and get the car you really want when it makes good financial sense.

Ask yourself why you want one and be honest.

C6's are very nice, C6 Z06 even more so. But C5's are also nice and not much different.

If your looking for more power, just slap a SC on your current C5 and eat Z06's all day long.
If your looking for a little more refinement, and somewhat better amenities and newer car, than get the C6.

What ever you do, don't buy a C6 and then trade up in two years to a Z06, your going to take a double financial hit. However, I can pretty much guarantee that you won't see C6 Z06's in the high 30's low 40's in two years. You might find one with a salvage title, but that's about it.

Tough call. I'm sticking with my moderately modded C5 for now. In the meantime, try that spell check thing out.

Well, What is it you like about the C6 over your current C5? Is it because it's new? More power? Better lights? Nicer interior?

Why not just make a short list of what you like about the C5 then match that up with what you like about the C6. Other then styling...I really wonder is there is going to be that much different?

Personal take - Unless you just have the need to have the latest/greatest Corvette (and there taint nothing wrong with that!) Keep the C5 - You can do WONDERS with the "down payment mount of $$$" in MODs to your C5 and it would be easily as nice as a C6 (HID lights, upgrade the interior, performance mods) - and you still would not have any car payments.

If you like the C6 more I suggest you get it if you can afford it. Another option would be to start moding your C5 and enhance it's look and performance. Either way you can't loose.

Well 1st its AFFORD, not effort, 2nd the c6's are all dropping in price, I think your 97 is pretty stable at this point, you already know the answer as your last sentence was "have a fat car payment" Noboby likes big car payments...
