I bought my 99 last year from the 1st owner and he mounted a Thule bike rack to it. I just removed it 2 months ago and it was bolted to the rear frame bar.
For pic see the old posting:

It looks like the only solution is a sportframe hitch from Draw-Tite and the proper rack for the receiver

Uhaul sells that hitch for 150. It is not the easiest hitch to install. good luck with the install if you do go to install that yourself.

I take the front and rear wheel off and place the bike in the trunk, no problems.

Anyway- yes the only good solution is the hitch solution. I have a Draw Tite Hitch and it's great. I've used it for both a bike rack AND to actually tow a trailer with it.

I view putting a trailer hitch on a Corvette sacrilege, sorry

It's your car. Put a bike rack on it if you want. I would think a hitch mount rack would work best on a vert.

Not if you use the trailer for drag or track tires/wheels. Also the weight of the hitch just the right ballast for the rear

Get a light duty trailer hitch and get a trailer hitch bike rack.. it might be ugly but that would work best ,,,, send a pic of it when you find something !

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. For me, it expands the usefulness and utility of the vehicle, which increases its value. Like the OP my car is my ONLY car and I've done fine with it for the past 5.5 years. I even have snow tires to drive it in the snow too
