I love all the mods that forum members have done. Also have noticed how many Z06s have been wrecked.
It seems the value of a C5 Z06 seems to be dropping, yet a new Z goes for 75K?
3 choices:
1) Keep it stock, don't drive it and wait for the car to become a classic.
2) Keep it stock, and enjoy it. Do the race weekends and track events.
3) Mod the heck out of it and have a wild time with it
my last 2 cars, i have modded pretty heavily, and in the end wished i had not gone so far........ fun yes.. but to me it almost feels like i took away from what the car was.. odd ??? ya... lol
with the Z06 i only plan to do exhaust, intake, shifter... and thats about it for a long while..
Remember mods include cosmetic also. Lots of cool mods for stripes, lights, lowering, wheels, etc. I love this kind of mod because it is what visually will really set your Corvette apart from another.
For now, my Z06 with straight exhaust, intake, tune, & couple other small things is plenty for me... for now.
I feel that Chevy has to make it fit a wide range of appeal for all tastes. It is our obligation to personalize it to fit our specific needs, like a blank canvas.
I picked #3 . If you're like me and can't bring yourself to tearing into a clean, stock car, buy an already modded car done the way you want it and enjoy! That's what I just did!!!
But I agree with some of the previous posts. Take your time with your mods. This way your Z becomes more personalized and faster as time goes by. Personally, after I do a mod my car then gains HP and feels faster. As time goes by I get used to the added power and start looking for a new rush. So I do another mod and so on. If you go all out at first you get to a certain point and don't have much more you can do without a major overhual or major expenses. Just my opinion.

I love moddong my Z06. I do a lot of research on all the things I want to do though. I want all my modds to "blend" in. I like that my Z looks stock. It has alot of little things done to make it a better daily driver.
Engine stock for the time being - multiple suspension, brake and longevity mods like oil coolers. What is the use having a car like this if you do not drive the snot out of it !!!
I picked #3, but it can go different ways. Either mod light or mod heavy whatever you feel you want to do or dont mod it at all. Just enjoy it with whatever you choose.
Intake, headers, xpipe, exhuast and tune that would be more then enough power for me, plus with those mods you should be easily hitting 380+rwhp and i can live with that for a while.
I say mod it to fit YOUR tastes. I picked my car up in Dec. from the original owner with 7800 miles on it, while it was great stock I like it even more now with the few mods I have done. I recently added some long tubes, catback, intake, shifter, and a tune and enjoy it even more now. If you enjoy it stock leave it alone, if not add some mods to make it more enjoyable for YOU.
