Default Question on Overall Width

According to pretty much every source, the width of the C5 is 73.6". However, does anyone know the width including the mirrors?

I was thinking about purchasing a C5 within a year or less, but I have a pretty narrow one-car garage. I'm just wondering if there's any hope that it would fit. My Toyota Solara fits just fine, but it's a little narrower than a vette.

For example, my '99 Solara has a published width of 71.1", but the actual width with the mirrors is about 78"

The figure is width of body w/mirrors compressed.

Measuring my convertible I get ~83" with mirrors extended.

With mirrors compressed the widest point of the body appears to be above rear axle.

Good luck! Just cut notches in the door jam to get the mirrors to fit...

Fold the mirrors in and crawl out though the back hatch or put the top down on the vert and crawl out the back. If you are considering a FRC...you're screwed.

I, too, have a very narrow garage. I have ramps set on the floor ( 2x 10's stacked) which allow me to roll in backwards very close to the wall on the passenger side. This lets me out. Just barely. (The ramps also let me get a jack under with the 2x support for the crossmember on top of the jack. cake! )

Awesome, thanks for the measurements! Notches aren't a bad idea actually... Although I presently live in an apartment, the owner doesn't seem to care about the building much. Therefore, I can't imagine him giving a crap about some notches ha ha.

Lol, great (and funny) idea! Actually, I really want a '02 to '04 Z06, so the escape hatch idea may not work...

Just curious- how do ramps help you back into the garage? Are they sloping perpendicular to the side wall or something, such that they give you a warning when you are too close to the passenger-side garage wall?

It can be done in an FRC too. I have a Z06 and when it is in the trailer I go in and out through the window just like it was a NASCAR race car.

Well I guess you could crawl through through the trunk
