Default Failed emissions testing...twice! Need Help!

As the title says guys...I failed twice and it wasn't because of a check engine light or not having any exhaust.

The car has been out of the shop for a while but I do not drive it often. The car failed the test because it said too many of the testers were inactive still. The most common case of this is that the battery has been disconnected and has not had enough time to start the testers back up.

My question, is HOW MANY MILES/HOURS DO I NEED TO WAIT till I can re-test it? My stupid plate has expired and I cannot get it renewed until I pass the emissions test.

I have put on about 100+ miles since the first test, went to retest it and it failed again. I do not drive the car that much. It still is just at 7,6XX miles.

Any help would be appreciated,

- Carleton

It can take a lot of driving, a good couple of days. Try various starts and mixed types of driving.

I had the exact same problem last year, here in Maryland. Just drive the car every day for a couple of weeks, then take it back. It should pass no problems.

According to the manual:
A history DTC clears after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles, if no failures are reported by this or any other emission related diagnostic.

Did you ever get this sorted out? Sometimes when people tune out the 02 sensors they will constantly display "not Ready"
