I have several spider web cracks on my hood. My body shop is reluctant to repaint fearing they will come back. Should I look for a new painter or go with hood stripes to hide the cracks? I'm not a real fan of stripes, but maybe they will grow on me after there done. What do you think?
I believe the spider cracks will keep growing and eventually you will have wasted money on the stripes. If it is repaired right they probably will not show back up, at least for a long time anyway. paint shops generally give lifetime warranty on paint so im sure they are worried about having to redo it in 5 years for free. I'd just get it repainted at a good shop or go aftermarket hood but either way you are still paying to have one painted. good luck
Thanks for your input guys. A repaint is probably the way to go. Like I said, I'm not a big fan of decals. They look good on some vettes, but at 47 I maybe to old for the racer look...
To each his own, if you like your stripes, I'm happy for you. Just looking for some input. But try keeping you negative attitude to yourself!!! If your to old for stripes then your to old for a vette! I din't ask for an opinion on whether or not I should keep my vette, but if a hood stripe would be a good option rather than painting.
