Stress crack.
I'm pizzed. Got in the 5 ness yesterday and found a cracked windshield. 
Makes me sick.
Not covered under warranty. I have to run it thru the ins. co.
How does a stress crack happen to a windshield that is mounted ?

Just like they said more than likely there was a small chip in your glass. Most of the time they dont stress break it can happen but very rarely..Becareful getting it replace there has been alot of issues with AP Tech windshileds being warped from the factory.. Dont let the shop cut out the glass untill you or them has fully inspected the new one, this could svae you alot of headache.
