Dash lights seem to flicker

Dash lights seem to flicker
While cruising at speed with the lights off my dash mph indicator goes from bright to dim and back again .Does not seem to be at any specific time or reason ie:cruise on/off radio on/off same result .should i be worried ??

there is a light sensor when its light out side (day) the MPR is bright so you can see but when its dork (night) it will go darker not to blind you
so when you driving some times in the shadow its dim and when you get out its bright, understand ?
