Does anyone actually make parts from carbon fiber or are they all just laminated?
I've had carbon fiber valve covers and loved them, but wouldn't have bought them if they were just laminated stock covers.

Interesting how in the vette world, real carbon costs more than for other vehicles. Guess it's just supply and demand although it doesn't cost any more to make. I just don't get how people are willing to put what really amounts to a fake carbon look piece on their car.

A word of warning:

I bought the hydro carbon fiber a few years ago....and now it's bubbling and looking pretty crappy.
The vendor (one of the supporting vendors) said he would take care of me but after several e-mails covering several months I'm just supposed to give up on it.
He, of course, blames the actual manufacturer (since he is just a distributor of the crap).

Your warning should be about the vendor and its manufacture to warn others, not necessarily the process. Regardless of who made your pieces, the person who sold them to you should make good.

The hydro process, like anything else (including real carbon fiber) has good and bad manufactures & procedures which can result in poor results over time.

Our procedures and standards meet and exceed what GM and the rest of the auto industry has done for years.
This is why we advertise our parts will NOT fade, yellow or crack.
Since we don't have this problem, if your ever interested in having other parts done OR repairing your existing ones, give us a call!

Take it ease
Ed
