Default why not put same size wheels all around?

doe's anyone think that putting the same size wheels all around is better then the 17's front 18's rear.? with the same size tire's all around they can be rotated for longer tire ware, at $400 a tire whynot get 60-70,000 miles out of them, then 35,000? why doe's gm put diffrent size wheels on these cars? i would like oppinions. thanks! any reason not to?

Because it would look stupid. Also do you really want 295s or 305s on front or visa versa 245s on back? IMHO

Looks much better staggered. Plus we need more rear rubber to get the power down, no?

Also, the traction control/ABS would go nuts with that set-up. It is programmed to see a smaller overall diameter on the front than on the rears. You can run all 18s without a problem, but your overall diameter would still have to be different, therefore you cannot rotate them.

Corvette design engineers did it purely for aesthetics.

The EBCM expects to see the front wheels turning faster than the rear wheels. If it receives information that the front wheels are turning at the same speed or slower than the rear wheels, it will invoke traction control, which means it will apply braking to the rear wheels.

Fill out your profile, I'd like to see where someone who spells like that lives. And their age.

Do you really need a period before "And"? Also, your second 'sentence' is a fragment.

Does it matter where he lives or his age? These are legit questions. If he miss spelled a word or too oh well, i think everyone can understand what hes saying and its not like hes writing a formal report to GM about this inquiry.

But to answer the original question, yes the TC/HC would have a fit with the same diameter rims and tires all around, but the 17/18 combo is not just for aesthetics if i remember, i just cant think of the reason right now.

To the OP; don't mess with success

and who buys a sports car and then worries about tire life or rotation capability ?

Matters to me. If it doesn't to you, don't read his profile. That's if he ever fills one out.

And my profile is filled out. I'd like to see if he's in this country. I don't see how it concerns you that I would like to see his profile.

My mistake, I didn't realize asking someone who's been a member since 07 to fill out his profile was bashing. I've learned from it and will try to improve myself in the future.

I've run 275/18's all round with no problems for years. I do not rotate however, because the rear tyres do not last very long

Looking at your profile I don't see the Good ole USA in the country space

If you don't like that a guy doesn't do his profile the don't read or post on his thread.

yeah the grammar and spelling bash is quite old in this age of internet.

alot of gamers under 30 or so just dont even capitalize or use punctuation anymore because it takes longer. and most younger people dont care if another misspells anything because they all dont really care.

i am one of those people and i dont even dislike the people who do grammar bash, i just feel sorry for them.

Same goes for you. There is no "county" space on my profile to be filled out. But if you want to know, it's Greene County.
