So this morning it was my turn. Got home this morning from my daily morning ritual at 24 Hr Fitness only to discover that someone had backed into my car and "tweaked" the left front corner of its nose. No note. Just your adverage "hit & run". Pretty scuffed up and a nice 12 inch crack that exstends from the brake duct to the parking light.
I made out a police report, called the insurance company and took the car down to the local, favorite Corvette repair shop. Bottom line, A few bucks under $2,000 an me with a $500 deductible. Oh well, the nose was pretty beaten up from mainland freeway driving anyway so it's not like I'm all broken up. I thought I'd take this opprtunity to upgrade to a Shark nose then realized that it would never make it up my driveway. Stock parts & related hardware are on order (nobody stocks a C5 nose in Hawaii...) and should be here within the week.
It's a daily driver so I expect crap like this, but to bash my car and just drive off. That SUCKS!!! But I'll survive and so will the car.
That sucks. There's lots of jackasses like that out there. More than likely the person that hit you didn't have insurance, which is why they drove off. You would be surprised how many people are out there driving without insurance. Kinda scary actually.....

Sorry to hear that. Some people have no respect, 2 weeks ago someone backed into my daughters Cobra vert and trashed the back bumper and part of the trunk. (No note). Irresponsible people will always be that way.

Morning Jeff and you are up early People just do not care about others possesions at all
Man, somebody at work hit the front bumper on my other baby, the stang, and didn't even leave a note to say I F-ed up. That is why I didn't drive the vette to work today.
Sorry, I hate when stuff like this happens. If I were you I would argue with my insurance company that the claim should be filed under comprehensive (no deductable) since the car was parked and they can't prove it was a vehicle that did the damage.
I too agree that sucks,,, for you being as calm and collected as you are!! I would like to think I could be the same!! Good luck and best wishes of a speedy recovery for you and your vet!!
Thanks for the kind words guys. Parts are on order and should be fixed in a week or two. No cameras in the parking lot. Goes to show you that jerks live all over the world. One of the guys in the gym said, "I bet an SUV hit you and the driver didn't even realize it. 2 ton suv vs. fiberglass..." I kinna doubt that.. And no, it wasn't him. He drives a Honda 2000.
Things come in threes: Aside from the damage to my vette, the AC in my wife's PT Cruiser died yesterday and the remote for my vette also died. The battery is ok (3+ volts).
The anger management classes are starting to pay off...
Sux man. I saw a Lady in a minivan back into a Honda Ridgeline truck about a week ago in a strip shopping center across from Wright State University. Did at least 3K in damages. She was fixin to leave without reporting it. About three guys with cells were dialin the cops to report it. I called the cops and reported what happened and gave them the license numbers.
I hate it that people do that crap. I do like your attitude about it though. Contrary to what alot of people on here think, it isn't the end of the world

AMEN!
Enduring a few "anger management" classes also helped......
