They are friction fit.
I pull up on the edges closest to the fenders and then pull up on the edges closest to the air intake. They carefully flex the cover on the drivers side (either side of the slit for the fuel hose) one edge up the other down...

That's it. Just take your time with flexing the cover near the braided fuel line - don't want to scratch up the FRCs.

If you want to make sure you don't scratch the drivers side one you can apply some masking tape on the opening for the fuel line opening...
