I did mine myself. Bought it from ebay. Be sure to get a homelink from a '98 or newer car. Easy to do yourself, but the visor has to be sown back together. From Vette Mods it looked like all you have to do is send them your visor or buy a completey new visor from them. DIY list on digitalcorvettes.

Reason: typo
Bought mine from Vettemods and it took less than 10 minutes to take the old one out and put the new one on. Works great and no more openers.
And no problem with the actual "linking" of the unit to your garage door? VetteMods directs you to another site for the linking process. I've got an old Garage door opener. For $200 ++ I want to cover all the steps. If this truly works it will be my best mod since covering up the seat belt warning stickers!! (I've had others too).

Go to Homelink's website to determine if you door opener is compatible.
I bought the Visor w/homelink and the wiring is plug and play. Removal of the visor was easy if you have instructions. Flat blade screw driver in slot on visor mount base and turn visor toward the driver side window. Programming using the Homelink site was not difficult but like someone posted check to see if your opener is covered.
I bought one on flebay a few years back and instlled it above the rear view mirror. I wired mine into the drivers visor mirror.
Seeing yours was the inspiration for doing mine in the same spot. I'm having trouble getting the homelink to link up with my garage door opener though. Hopefully I'll get it worked out this weekend.
