Default I actually found a vette locally!!!

Went to the various dealerships this afternoon, found several C6 vettes, one C5 vert and that was it...

Drove up to a dealer we had been to on Sunday and stopped and looked at....GASP!!! a BMW.

While looking at it a salesman comes up and we get to talking,I mention I am looking for a vette and he says well we have a 1998 six speed, low mileage one that just came in.

He drives it round, and it looks in VERY good shape.
Black interior, six speed, variable suspension, glass roof, only 34000 miles and had late model wheels and new tires.

Took it up the road and it was like a new car really, only thing that I didn't like too much was the color-white.

Also perhaps we are simply not used to it but the road noise is quite loud....is this normal?

So the price, they want $21,990, what do y'all think?

Will take my old truck in trade too.

I am going back in the morning so any suggestions would be appreciated.

If those new tires are run-flats, then road noise normal...

Good local find, check out the White List here . Also if those are original RF's they need replaced , but many complain about the noise I seldom keep the top on and hear only exhaust note and music I would also suggest if it's not exactly what you are looking for there are many more out there. Pull codes and have a trusted mechanic give it a thorough inspection. Good Luck

Guess that's fine if you're a kid. If you took a poll here you'd find white at, or near the bottom of preferred colors. But get the color you like. The price is O.K., not a bargain. Good luck.

It has late model chrome spoke wheels on it right now.

I might see what they can do pricewise,if it doesn't work,I will simply keep looking.

I think this was the original window sticker,it was in the glovebox along with some other paperwork, not that it really matters.

If you really like this car and think you want to buy it, my suggestion is to go on the internet and find similar cars that are priced well below this one. Print those ads out and carry them in with you when you haggle the price. Tell them you have (?????) to spend for the car. When they tell you they couldn't possibly sell it for that price show them the ads you have and tell them you are prepaired to drive to buy one of them. Odds are they well sell. I think it is a buyers market right now and you can bargain with them.

I used this tactic 4 years ago and bought my car from the dealer for $3.5k less than asking price.

The price is on the high side, see if you can get them around 19k at the most.

With the gas the way it is, and the incorrect public perception that C5s are "gas guzzlers", you should be able to get them to drop the price to get it off their lot.

I'd see if the dealer would drop some.
21k seems about 4k too much.

It is priced about 2-3000 to high. I bought a 2000 vert for less than$18,000 w a few more miles. (Tennessee)

Printing off a bunch of similar cars for sale and also the value of their car according to Edmunds.

This area isn't really a place where a 10 year old vette is a big seller to be honest, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of interest here.
If I can get them down to $18000 or less I will be much more interested in the car.

Also one other thing is the dealership it is located at-a Jaguar dealer,I doubt many people go there looking for used corvettes...

I will keep y'all informed.

$16K (mentioned a couple times) for a 34K mile Corvette Convertible is going to be tough no matter what year. I agree get the color you want though, if not it will cost you more to change cars out later.

This is a coupe I am looking at,I would think a vert would be several thousand more.

One thing about this area is there are few available cars but that should really work both ways,it means there aren't a lot for sale OR a lot of buyers.
