Default Tire sensor ?????

Just put a new set of wheels on my 04, no sensors. Of course I got the "FLAT TIRE" warnings but also on the freeway this morning I got "TRAC CONTROL ENGAGED " of something like such.NO power at all when I floored it, turned off the TC and its fine. Is this caused by the warning for flat, and how can I do away with this I have the sensor but the guy that mounted the tires to the wheels said the sensor would fit but he could not tighten it down. I was thinking they could be put on the wheel with tape or a big hose clamp?

I may be wrong, but I can not see why the two would be related.
Check in the Tech section look for Bill Curlee.
Tape no, band yes, but you still have to worry about the valve stem leaking if they do not seat properly.
You can get a programmer to remove the TPS I believe.

Good luck

You can run 18's all around if they are the right size.
265/35 F, and 295/35 R will work. What sizes do you have?

You can turn off the TPS system with a Tech II tool like I used to turn it on for my Z06. I wouldn't be without TPS. Are these aftermarket wheels? The TPS sensors should fit. Check your mechanic. Hope this helps.

I am thinking it will fit , the guy that mounted them said they fit but he could not tighten it for what ever reason. I am going to pull a tire when I get home and see if I can mess with it. Yes they are after market. The flat tire message does not bother me , the Tracton Control issue does, and I did not have this problem before the new wheels.

You will continue to have problems, and need a different size on the front.

I don't know how else to say you will have problems with those sizes.
Stock C5 = 25.7 diameter front and 80.7 circumference,
26.7 83.8 rear.

Z = 25.3 79.6 F
26.1 82.1 R

Your sizes 26.7 83.8 F
26.1 82.1 R

As you can see you are the opposite of what is required. You should be taller in the rear.
I have been told that as little as 1/2" taller is acceptable, but what you have will cause problems for the TC.
I am not a tire expert, but this is the info that I have been told by several people smarter then me.
You need to change your front tires.

They are both 18" , I wonder why the 275 /40 is bigger than the 295 /35 ?You are right , looks like I will need to change the front tires

OK , so correct me if I am wrong but it looks like I can go with 225/40 18 tires on the fronts and leave the backs and I should have no more Traction control problems?
