[Z06] Tire questions???

Tire questions???
I have a 2003 Z06, i bought some black Z06 replica rims off ebay a long time ago and I'm not sure of their exact size, I think 18x 9.5 in the rear. The current tire sizes on the rims now are 295/35/R18 can anyone take a guess on the widest tire size that could fit the rear of my car? 305's maybe? Any suggestions on how to find out?
My second question, if I went with the nitto 555R's would it be ok to run a regular tire up front? I currently have 265/40/R17's up front and the taller tire makes for a smoother ride but I can't find this size in Nitto's. Any help would be appreciated.
