Default Gears or Cam ???

Want to add a little something to the car and not sure which would be better at this time , 4.10 gears , or ADS4 cam . About $2000 , +/- , for either . Just have K&N CAI and B&B Bullets exhaust right now . I'm leaning towards the gears right now , for seat of the pants feal , and not sure what else I would need to support the cam , ie. intake manifold ? throttle body ? MAS ? headers ? Any input would be appreciated ! Thanks , Scott

Cam

Gears won't give you any more power, and we all know it's about power.

The gears will get off the line better though . Ca. smog check is my other concern with the cam . I would love to have the lumpy idle and extra power !!!

4.10 gears defintely. you dont have enough supporting mods to feel the cam. if you do cam, youll need headers. plus the seat of the pants feel for the cam is more midrange and upper rpms. off the line, youll be like, what the hell?

Some 3.73s or 3.90s will give you a boost you will feel everywhere in the envelope . As stated before, do headers before the cam. Initially I though power was everything till I did the gears.

CA limits your options for cams and headers.

GEARS first.

Mine goes in next week for gears. I have 273s. I'm going for 342s. Next will be the cam. Since you already have 342s I'd go with the cam.

3.90's or 4.10s is the only way to go with gears, if not a lower ratio... ide personally do some kinda intake system (ls6, 90mm) along with a cai system, then full exhaust then a cam.
