I have a C6Z, but am looking at purchasing a C5Z as well. I would be using the car typically in good weather, but in central new york it is possible to get caught in some snow. Are there any all season tires that fit the Z06 rims? I will just stick with my 02 vert for now if there are no all seasons available. I checked the tire rack and it only showed summer performance tires. Thanks!
I put the Michelin ZP run flats on my C-5 last year. Although most people RAVE about how much better they are compared to the OE GoodYears, I'm not exactly as blown away. HOWEVER, the Michelin's tread pattern, IMHO, would easily be able to handle light snow, as they resemble tractor tires......
My choice for winter tires is Bridgestone Blizzaks........on my GMC 4x4!
I have the Michelin ZP on mine and I really like the traction especially in wet weather and close to freezing. I've not taken the Vette out in the snow. As I live in Syracuse too I just can't invision using a corvette during the winter months when it is snowing. I head up to the University every day and in the winter I always see some idiot with a mustang or similar car trying to get up the hill by the hospitals with little success.
I know I am going to have my hands full. I used to drive a 68 vette, 78 vette, 81, 84, and 85 vettes all in the snow when I could only afford one car. I love driving them to much to put them away all winter. The C6Z is the worst car I have every seen in snow. With 12 inch wide tires and all the hp, You can't get it rolling downhill on snow if you tried. I know the C5Z is not much different, but I the looks of the C5Z still and it would have more of a chance than the C6Z.
