Of those of you who still have and love your wagon wheels, are they chrome, painted, polished, have decals added?
Also have a set of Z06 wheels and rubber I can swap out at a whim but haven't had them on for over a year as the stock wheels look great to me. Jewelry on a Vet is laughable IMO. It amazes me how many have replaced them with heavier wheels focusing more on the "pretty" factor thinking they are doing a good thing. Guess they didn't buy the car for it's designed purpose. To each his own.
I have the wagon wheels on my 99'. I don't like or dislike them. If I had a need to replace my wheels other than the fact that it's one of the only "mods" 99% of people do on these newer vettes I wouldn't put them back on. I would go with a nicer looking aftermarket wheel. But for now if I wanted to blow some cash on my C5 I'm sure there's a lot of other things under the hood and in the driveline that would come first.
It's a wheel, who cares what it is. I know I may get struck down by the C5 gods for making such a blasphemous comment.
still have my wagons..not by choice ....waiting till my tires wear out then new wheels and tires, im thinking about 18s and 19s. Mine are painted and match my pewter vert so not tooooooo bad.

CRACK (that was a clap of THUNDER!!!)...."It's a wheel, who cares what it is???"......ARGH!!!...Those WWs were the FIRST thing to go on both my 99s (coupe and conv)....I realize the C5 was a completely new beast in 1997...but I cant believe after three years of production GM was still putting those HIDEOUS wheels on such a beautiful car....Just like the BUTT UGLY exhaust tips from 97-99...Just a row of half smashed black pipes hanging out the *** of such a beautiful car...and I STILL see people running that HORRID looking exhaust....AT LEAST put on a set of Corsa tips for $150....
I still have mine Painted them black for now so I can at least stand them. When the current tires need to be replaced is when I will most likely get new rims .. i dunno if i can wait that long :P
I keep my wagons because I don't have the herd mentality, and also because I don't need someone hundreds or thousands of miles away telling me what's best for my car.

I was thinking at one point putting the wagon wheels on my 04' (stock brushed thin spokes on it now). I was also going to throw the stock cat-back or at least swap the tips from my stock catback to my TI exhaust. This is only because i wanted a nice sleeper look
Id have to agree with you, it is just a wheel when it come down to it. Just think of the performance crap you can buy for the price of a set of aftermarket wheels and rubber!
So all in all, props to the guys running the stock wagon wheels! After all when you car is cranking out 11 and 10 sec passes they are not going to say "omg he has stock wagon wheels!" lmao

However, a Corvette is NOT ONLY about "performance"....."LOOKS" plays a big part in the total Corvette "package" as well.....That "look" needs to includes wheels that are worthy of such a beautiful car!!!!JMO
I still have my wagon wheels on my 99 FRC and I even replaced the rear wheels with a better pair that I found on ebay. (No curb rash.) I got used to them and now I kind of like them. BUT, I have been buying the Corvette magnesium wheels as I can find them brand new-never mounted. I still need one 17" wheel for the front if anyone has one.
