Default SLP products

I've been looking into an SLP exhaust (long tube headers and loudmouth exhaust) and have been trying to find other members with thoughts on SLP. Unfortunately, the consensus seems to be LG / Kooks / ARH for headers and Borla / Corsa for an exhaust. Is SLP such a poor product that i should be rethinking this purchase. ANY help much appreciated!

SLP stands for Over Priced Junk.

Long Tubes, no cats, and Loudmouth sound awful on F-Bodies, but I've never heard it on Corvette. I can't imagine it sounding much better.

I use to have the Loudmouth with my LG headers and no cats and loved the sound. Unfortunately, I live in an area with a bunch of old people, no offense to anyone here, that dont like loud cars so I had to change it. I now have Corsa Pace Cars. If you want your car to be loud all the time, then go for it. There will be drone also so I hope you can live with that.

I have slp loudmouths on my z and love them, getting ready to install custom fabricated (split flange )long tubes shortly from a gentlemen that used to work at wheel to wheel ,to each his own though, coming from someone who has never heard them on a corvette thats a strong statement, with all the mods you have on your vert i would take that comment with a grain of salt op

I've only had it a month... I'm working on it. I am on my 3rd LS1, have been in car clubs for the past 7 years, and have been around a lot of different exhaust setups on a wide range of just bolt on cars to bored out heads and cam motors.

My best advice -- find local owners with different setups and find what you like. I've read on here a lot about Loudmouths and drone. Had my car not had Corsa on it when I purchased it, I probably would have been looking at Magnaflow.

Loudmouths + LTs.... that's going to be LOUD

SLP makes a good product IMO. I use their Powerflo exhaust, it was MUCH cheaper than most of the catbacks out there and it fit together perfectly. Far better than my B&Bs ever did.

I'm fine with loud and I definately understand that LT's and a loudmouth exhaust will be LOUD. But is that the only issue as it relates to SLP products? They been called "overpriced junk" from another member but I still do not understand why...quality, difficult installation, breakdown..whats wrong with the product... if anything?

IMO I have no problems with SLP products. I had the Loudmouth for my Vette and I bought several parts from them when I had my '02 Camaro SS as well. They excellent quality parts and they had great customer service as well. I had the older style Loudmouth and it was a PITA for installation but the newer style was changed to be an easier install.

Because hes probobly some overpaid clown that thinks corsa and borla are the only way to go because he reads the ecklers catalogs and sees they are more money.

IMO spending 1300 dollars on a catback that weilds almost no HP gain is a waste.

Dont get me wrong, I love the sounds of those expensive catbacks and many members love them, but to call SLP "overpriced junk" is uncalled for.

I was perhaps a exagerating little. Put on your big girl panties and deal with the fact that I made fun of your SLP products. Also, look at all the people that chimed in "yeah, their older stuff didn't fit right..." Gee, I wonder where I got my perception from.

I'm not some overpaid clown, as stated. Corsa was already on the car when I bought it, so I lucked out. I like the way it sounds. I hated it on my friend's F-Body, but it is much nicer on the Vette.

As I said before, your best bet is to go listen to exhausts in person and pick what you like.

im sorry but i believe a real opinion consists of actually having first hand expirience with the product at hand
