I press the aux button and it runs through all the disks...and in the end loads the first one, but before anything plays it gives an Err message. I know the disk is unscratched, not burned, and is face up. Any help would be appreciated.
It's been a while since I loaded my oem changer with a magazine, but I believe the oem C5 CD changer requires the CDs be face (label) down. You might confirm that with a search in C5 Tech or C5 General. You might try it and see if that cures your problem. It can't hurt. The owners manual should address it as well. If you don't have an owners manual, you can download one for free on the GMPARTSHOUSE website. It's listed on the main menu forum, column to the left.
Is this problem just suddenly occurring or have you just recently installed the changer or purchased the car?

They load face down not face up. Also I always make sure the engine is running when the changer is cycling through the disks when the magazine is first loaded into the changer. It seems very sensitive to voltage drop. It will also not play some brand of copied disks, seem's to work real well with Verbatim brand CD's.
If your changer ( either Pioneer or Delco )is a 25685332 model CDX-M2016 it will play MP3 burned discs. I have three of them. Fact is the Delco in my '96 GMC Surburban is a Delco 16199553 and it plays MP3's also .
And yah the Errr message is becuase the CD was upside down.
Anyone have an idea how to remove a jammed cd in a C5 12 disk cd player? The manual eject button won't eject it. The cd and carrier tray is jammed in the player.

You have to take it apart to get it out. There is a manual release for the tray once you take the cover off.

I have removed the covers and can see the disk and tray jammed inside. It is jammed so tight that I the manual release won't eject the disk holder. I think I have to take it apart further, but don't want to go past the point of no return.
What is this 12disc changer you speak of, I have 1,761 songs on my I pod that I use.
Too funny and I agree, took out CD player installed ISimple plug and play that I purchase on line.
I also purchased CableJive to go from Ipod to 3.5mm- 1500 songs on Ipod, 700 on Android and Pandora.
