Default GHOST IN THE MACHINE! Make it stop!

GHOST IN THE MACHINE! Make it stop!

I recently put in a Z06 memory optioned seat, in a NON memory optioned car. I move the seat to where i want it. No prob. Drive the car and it stays there no prob. Turn car off, no prob. Every few times I sit down to start the car, put the key in... it moves to a old memory location i guess.

I move it back... good a few days, then poof does it again.

How do I either:
1.) Make this annoying problem stop, ie) blank the old memory / turn it off

OR

2.) Add in a memory option hardware to tame the ghost.
---i know this needs the switch, but does it need any other module than the one that CAME with the seat attached to the bottom?

Leave your door open and start the car then close the door.

I may be wrong here, but I believe the way that memory works is not that the seat returns to the last position - rather it returns to the place you stored by pressing and holding the memory button for the position you want it to. If you have not put in all of the components for the memory option, and turned it on (if that is necessary) with a Tech II type tool - I am not sure you will get memory to work properly.

The only other thing I could think of is that I always press unlock on the FOB before entering the car, after it has been sitting for more than a few days - I do this to let the car know it is me getting in, as opposed to my wife who has different memory settings. Like me, the car seems to 'forget' things as it gets older.

it works b/c in the memory seat cars, the seat goes all the way back when your pull the key out to alow the driver optimal room to get out of the car. when you close the door and put the key in the seat returns to its last postion from before the key was turned off. Now if you were sitting with the door open and your legs hanging out just chatting or something you wouldnt want to we slidding closer to the steering wheel b/c then you'd never be able to swival your legs into the car. its just a safty feature
