Shihran I'll pop you a PM, I'll be on the phone with Speedhut soon to confirm your order number. After they go into production you'll have the ability to make any changes you want!

Thanx!!!! It's been a bit of a battle but we're here finally!

Stormrider, you deserve a big thank you as well! You started the ball rolling again and it just kept gaining speed this time!

Default Important

I just got off the phone with Speedhut for an hour and a half concerning how to do the warning light icons. They want to give us the best product that they can but they also have limitations due the manufacturing process of the Reverse EL Glo Gauges. Here’s the run down on what is possible;

On the Reverse EL Glo Gauges there are two ways to handle the warning light icons;

Option one is to have the warning lights cut out in the shape of the icon with a clear window covering the cut out. This would be perfect for a black face Reverse EL Glo Gauges as you wouldn’t even see it. On a colored faceplate the stock black faceplate will show through the icon shaped cut out.

Option two is a cut out in the shape of the icon colored the same as the font color you choose. So if you want a White Face Reverse EL Glo Gauge wih a Blue font, the icons shapes will be blue as well.

The EL Glo or “Indiglo” gauges will have a cut out in the shape of the icon but will be covered with the same color as the faceplate color you choose so it will appear seamless during the day. At night with the gauges lit up the icon cut out will show as a dark or black icon. I think this will be fine.

They asked me what the 1 to 4 Shift was and the car with the burn out tracks were, and I said as far as I’m concerned I don’t need em. Which got us discussing which ones do we really need? Keep in mind that they will interfere with the Logos you choose. It will also clean up the faceplates considerably! SO even if you haven’t ordered a set or don’t even plan on ordering a set I’d like to hear your honest opinion on deleting some of the Warning Lights.

First and foremost what warning light Icons can we get rid of???? In other words which warning icons do you really need? For me personally I only need the Check Engine Light, Emergency Brake and the ABS warning lights. I can even tell if I’m in MPH versus Metric

Then WE need to decide which option to go with on the Reverse EL Glo Gauges… I really don’t need a bunch of arguing, I need honest answers ASAP! This is time critical as Speedhut can’t start tooling until we get this hammered out.

I would like a few response in EMail so that I could forward them to Speedhut;

They said that they could not replicate the Z's checkerboard, the larger numbers I'm sure they could...

I wouldn't consider Blackface Reverse EL Glo in White, Red or Blue ricey... But everyone has an opinion!

Default Warning Light Cutouts

This is how the warning light cutouts will look on our Reverse EL GLOs with a COLORED (NOT BLACK) face if we decide to go with clear windows. I think these faceplates are White with/Black font EL Glo gauges. NOT Reverse EL Glo, I'm showing these to illustrate the cutouts;

EL Glo Yellow w/Black font;

Now our EL Glo faceplates will have windows that will be colored the same color as the base faceplate color, so they will not be seen until the lights are turned on. I don't want anyone getting confused...

Our BLACK faced Reverse EL GLO faceplates will have clear windows. Being Black on Black they'll be pretty much unnoticable.

Yes they can do that and it's already been coordinated, except for the checkerboard pattern. All the logos will be loaded prior to your set being made ie, Z06 and C5 logos. Or you can pic from several others that will be available or even upload any design you wish to be added to your Faceplates!
